Its hard to hate AMC. After all, theyre still the network that brings us Mad Men and Breaking Bad, two of the best dramas on television. But with The Walking Dead, theyve really dropped the ball. Sam Witwer certainly feels that way. The Being Human star recently expressed his displeasure with the network over their firing of Frank Darabont — and of their nixing of Darabonts fantastic idea for the second season premiere.

“[The cast and crew of The Walking Dead] have been threatened to not speak out [about Darabonts firing],” Witwer told ParanormalPopCulture.com. “I mean, its ugly. Ive heard some reports from people who are there, on the ground, and its really, really ugly, what happened.”

If this sounds familiar, like youve heard this same story just over a year ago, then dont worry youre not crazy. Brian Fuller last season had tried to reboot the classic 60s comedy. A pilot was ordered, but the first script was less than satisfactory, so NBC didnt move ahead. In the past year things have changed as the new NBC chief Bob Greenblatt took over the network, and decided to keep The Munsters alive. Apparently Fuller has worked out the kinks in the initial script, and all steam ahead.

He’s obviously with it enough to appreciate that what he’s doing is, in many ways, absurd. And he’s level-headed enough to poke fun at himself while getting fired from one of the highest paying gigs in television history. Maybe Sheen did have some sort of breakdown and decide to give Hollywood and the world at large the finger, but maybe he’s more in control of his train wreck than we give him credit for and we shouldn’t put Miss Ratched in control of his cigarette consumption just yet.
