This day at Teahupoo- Aug 27th 2011 during the Billabong Pro waiting period is what many are calling the biggest and gnarliest Teahupoo ever ridden. Chris Bryan was fortunate enough to be there working for Billabong on a day that will go down in the history of big wave surfing. The French Navy labeled this day a double code red prohibiting and threatening to arrest anyone that entered the water.Kelly Slater described the day by saying “witnessing this was a draining feeling being terrified for other peoples lives all day long, its life or death. Letting go of that rope one time can change your life and not many people will ever experience that in their life.” All images where shot by Chris Bryan using the Phantom HD Gold camera.
10 If content is king, then creators are deities.

9 More people will spend more minutes watching more video on a computer/tablet/phone today than they did yesterday…

8 The word “content” should be referred to as “the other c-word”. Don’t be in the content business. Be in the “Hits” business. Don’t make content. Make hits!

7 Always be the low-cost provider.

6 Super-distribution… because who doesn’t want to be super?

5 Raising prices is the hardest thing you can do, so stand firm, be prepared to not get paid, and keep growing. They’ll come around eventually.

4 There’s 4 ways to evaluate quality: Script, performance, production, delivery. All of them are subjective. None of them are ever enough.

3 Reject the first offer.

2 Never listen to anyone who says, “That’s how we do it in Hollywood!”

1 Believe in your passions.

While still working on his career in locations, Rocco has also recently launched his own independent production house, Nisivoccia Films. Taking what he’s learned about the industry, he and his team have already developed two short independent films, as well as a documentary, which they’re shopping around to different distributors. One of those two shorts – a zombie film called Eat Me – will be screening at the New York No Limits Film Festival in March and the Garden State Film Festival in April.“It’s funny to think about my first days on a set after I graduated, where I was just in awe of everything going on around me,” he says. “I was all wide-eyed, looking at this gigantic crew bringing a movie to life. Now I’m right there in the middle of it helping to make it all happen, and even making my own movies. It’s a great feeling.”Check out the website for Rocco’s zombie short film Eat Me at www.eatmezombie.com.

The Internet has been buzzing with the release of ‘Throwdown,’ the latest commercial from Nike, promoting their Nike Free line of shoes. Featuring a roster of athletes challenging each other in a cross-country game of “top that!”, the clip features some impressive, non-CGI enhanced displays of physical talent. But one of the more interesting aspects of this new commercial is that it’s directed by Jake Scott, the man who made this past fall’s ‘Welcome to the Rileys’ who just also happens to be the son of Ridley.

Lydon, known to generations of miscreants as Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols, lives a few hundred yards from the beach, just south of Venice, and has for close to two decades. “Well, somebody has to replace the hippies,” he said by way of explanation, spitting the last word with the same amount of contempt that he did in his youth. “All the beach there used to be very, very hippie. Very crime ridden too, in the past. Very druggy. But Johnny came along and kicked all that out.” His voiced turned faux-sinister. “Yes, I showed them a thing or two about manners.”
